Savings tips for cold weather:

Turn down your thermostat a few degrees – Program or set your thermostat to 68 degrees when you are home and 55 degrees when you are not home. For every degree you lower the heat in the 60-70 degree range you can save up to 5% on heating costs.

Open blinds – Open window blinds to warm your rooms during periods of direct sunlight.

Hot beverages and bundling – Keep your body warmer by drinking a hot beverage or putting on an extra warm sweater or pair of socks in cool weather.

Circulate warm air – Turn on your ceiling fan in reverse rotation from the summer use. It circulates the warm air, pulling it away from the ceiling.

Energy Audit – An energy audit might be the best investment for your home so you can identify any problem areas, make corrections and keep more of your hard-earned dollars.

Choose EnergyStar – Whenever possible choose EnergyStar for new equipment in your home. They are 20-30% more efficient than older models.

Insulate pipes – Insulate water heaters and supply pipes.
